Terms of Service

Last updated: April 14, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using Crowment ("Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Description of Service

Crowment is a community components platform that provides embeddable widgets to help website owners engage their audiences. The Service currently includes a comment widget with plans for additional components such as feedback forms, ratings systems, and announcements banners. Each widget is designed to integrate seamlessly with any website using a simple embed code.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update any changes to your information
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

4. Payment Terms

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly basis. All payment processing — including checkout, subscriptions, renewals, plan changes, tax calculation, currency conversion, and payment method management — is handled entirely by our third-party payment processor. Crowment does not directly process, store, or handle your payment card data. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to:

  • Pay all applicable fees as described in our pricing page
  • Authorize recurring charges for subscription plans
  • Acknowledge that the displayed prices may not include all applicable taxes, duties, or levies imposed by your local government or jurisdiction. Any such additional charges will be determined and applied at checkout by the payment processor and are your sole responsibility
  • Acknowledge that payment processing, including any proration, currency conversion, and tax handling, is governed entirely by the terms and policies of the relevant third-party providers, over which Crowment has no control

5. Free Tier

We offer a free tier that allows you to fully test and evaluate our platform before committing to a paid subscription. The free tier includes core features with limited storage capacity, giving you the opportunity to experience the Service without any financial commitment.

6. Plan Changes

Upgrades

Plan upgrades take effect immediately. Any proration or billing adjustment resulting from an upgrade is calculated and applied by our payment processor. Crowment does not calculate or apply any prorated charges directly.

Downgrades

Plan downgrades take effect immediately. The unused portion of your current plan is retained as a credit balance by our payment processor and will be applied automatically toward your next renewal charge. No cash refund is issued.

Widget blocking on exceeded limits: A downgrade can be requested regardless of your current usage. However, if your usage exceeds the new plan's limits when the downgrade takes effect, your widgets will be blocked from processing new data (such as accepting new comments or media uploads) until your usage is brought within the plan's limits or you upgrade to a suitable plan. Crowment is not liable for any loss or inconvenience resulting from such blocking.

7. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • Your account will remain active until the end of the current billing period
  • No further charges will be made
  • After the billing period ends, your account and all associated data (comments, media, and settings) will be preserved in a read-only state for a 2-month period. During this time, your widgets will remain visible on your website, but visitors will not be able to post new data (such as new comments) and no new data will be processed
  • If you do not reactivate your subscription within this 2-month period, all your data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our systems with no possibility of recovery

You may undo a cancellation at any time before your billing period ends.

8. Failed Payments and Grace Period

If an automatic renewal payment fails, our payment processor will retry the charge automatically. If all retry attempts fail, a grace period may begin during which your subscription remains active. You will be notified by email. You can update your payment method through the customer portal provided by our payment processor.

If no successful payment is made by the end of the grace period, your subscription will be cancelled and your data will be preserved in a read-only state for a 2-month period as described in Section 7. If no new subscription is activated within this period, all data will be permanently and irreversibly deleted.

9. Comment Deletion and Data Retention

When a comment is deleted — whether by the comment author, the site owner, a moderator, or a platform administrator — the comment is soft deleted. Soft-deleted comments are no longer visible to users but are retained in our systems for 6 months to comply with legal requirements. After the 6-month retention period, the data is permanently and irreversibly deleted.

10. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time. Upon an account deletion request:

  • Your account and all associated data (comments, media, apps, and settings) will be immediately soft deleted
  • Soft-deleted data is retained for 6 months to comply with legal requirements, after which it is permanently and irreversibly removed
  • If you log in with the same authentication provider during the 6-month retention period, you will be given the option to reactivate your account and restore all your data
  • After the 6-month period, if no reactivation has occurred, all data is permanently deleted and you may sign up as a new user

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Post illegal, harmful, or offensive content
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Spam or send unsolicited messages
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems

12. Account Suspension, Blocking, and Termination

Crowment reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to:

  • Suspend or block any user account temporarily or permanently
  • Restrict or revoke access to any part of the Service
  • Cancel any active subscription at any time, for any reason
  • Terminate any account that, in our sole judgment, violates these Terms or poses a risk to the Service, other users, or third parties

Reasons for suspension, blocking, or termination include, but are not limited to:

  • Violation of any provision of these Terms of Service
  • Fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, or illegal activity
  • Chargebacks, payment fraud, or disputes filed in bad faith
  • Posting content that is harmful, illegal, hateful, discriminatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Actions that damage the reputation, operations, or infrastructure of the Service
  • Requests from law enforcement, regulatory authorities, or court orders
  • Security threats or vulnerability exploitation attempts
  • Any other conduct we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful or unacceptable

Effect of Suspension or Termination by Crowment: If we suspend or terminate your account:

  • Access to the Service will be immediately revoked
  • Any active subscription will be cancelled with no obligation to issue a refund for the remaining period
  • Your data will be handled as described in the Cancellation and Data Retention sections
  • You may not re-register for the Service without our express written permission

No Liability: Crowment shall not be liable to you or any third party for any suspension, blocking, restriction, subscription cancellation, or termination of your access to the Service.

13. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Crowment, a sole proprietorship based in Turkey, and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

14. Limitation of Liability

Crowment shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities.

The Service depends on various third-party providers, services, and infrastructure — including but not limited to payment processors, cloud hosting providers, authentication services, CDNs, and other software or API dependencies. Crowment is not responsible for any interruption, failure, error, data loss, overcharge, security breach, or any other issue arising from the actions, omissions, outages, or policy changes of any such third-party provider. You acknowledge that the availability and functionality of the Service may be affected by factors outside our control, and Crowment accepts no liability for any resulting damages or losses.

15. Company Information

16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
